My brother John Graduated from high school on Thursday and as, what my family considers, a right of passage went to Disneyland for grad night. I was fortunate enough to accompany him as a guest, having graduated myself five years earlier. The bus driver we had was a real trip. The man was rather eccentric and, as we would soon find out, a very offensive driver, which made the ride to Disneyland very entertaining. Then there was parking. Imagine, if you will, a thousand buses coming from 3 differing directions all trying to squeeze into a hole no larger than the width of two minivans. There are only two words that can describe what transpired here. And those words are "BUS WARFARE." The details of which are better left to the imagination. Forty five minutes later we got off the bus.
Having been to Disney myself just 2 months prior, I had described to John how amazing the newly revamped “Space Mountain" was. So, obviously he was very excited to experience this ride and so it was the first thing we went to do. We arrived at the entrance to the ride and the sign above indicated a 90 minute wait. We stood in line for one hour and forty five minutes, and we were still no where near the front of the line. It was at this point in time that they announced over the loud speakers that the ride had broken down and that every one should vacate the line. Boy was I bummed. Things picked up after that though. We headed over to "Star Tours", a star wars themed ridefilm; the line for which was only 10 minutes long. After that we went over to "Honey I Shrunk the Audience" a 3-d show with various air, water and movement effects. Then we walked over to "Astro Blasters" which is a Buzz Lightyear themed ride/game. The ride had these cool little laser guns that you shoot at various targets to acquire points, and then when you exit the ride, you can e-mail a picture of yourself on the ride and the score you got, to whom ever you want using a touch screen. I just checked my e-mail and apparently that hasn't arrived yet. Around 5:15 in the morning we started heading back to the bus which was scheduled to leave at 6:00 regardless of whether or not everyone had made it back. Our bus only left 3 students behind. Not bad considering five years ago on my grad night my bus left 20 students behind.
It took about an hour to escape from Disneyland in, what I like to call, "Bus warfare round 2." We finally made it home around 8:45 and we both went directly to bed. My dad woke me up around 4:15 reminding me that I had to be at work in 15 minutes. Anyway . . . . uh I guess the point I'm trying to convey here is the Sims 2 comic won’t be up today. Sorry. Hopefully I can have it up tomorrow.
